Removing Waste in Project Management
with Shafer Gaston, PMP

The single largest hurdle to effective project management in an operational world is that principled project management slows things down. Operations Managers want lean, efficient, right-now answers and Project Managers want documentation, collaboration, and stakeholder satisfaction measured in triplicate. What PMs see as good practice OMs often see as waste.

So how do we remove that “waste” without compromising the quality of the outcome?

In this presentation, participants will learn techniques for identifying “waste” in their project management practices and methods to reduce that waste without losing key requirements. The instructor will also provide real-world examples of where cuts have been effective as well as when the drive for lean project management went too far and the consequences.
