Generative AI and Project Management

Since OpenAI first released ChatGPT in November 2022, nearly a quarter of all US adults have used a generative AI product. Generative AI is one of the hottest trends in business now.

What use does generative AI have in Project Management? People have proposed using Generative AI to create project charters, risk registers, status reports, use cases, and other project artifacts. If you already have templates for these artifacts what value does Generative AI bring?

Generative AI can also educate project managers in business areas in which the project team may not have much expertise. How can the team ensure that Generative AI provides the best answers?
Like it or not, your team may already be using Generative AI. Individual contributors may be using it to answer technical questions. Even if you’re not using Generative AI now, there’s a good chance someone in your organization will ask you what your plans for it are.
